Tiger
The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest and one of the most attractive members of the cat family. They can grow up to 3.3 meters in length and weigh over 300 kg. Bengal, Indochinese, Siberian, Sumatran and Malayan are some of the sub species of major subspecies of tigers. They have a lifespan of about 26 years. Tigers are endangered species and their population is less than 4000 at present. They are found in India, Southeast Asia and eastern parts of Russia.
Black Backed Kingfisher
The black backed kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca) is around 13 cm in length. It is found in Southeast Asia and India near the rivers and streams. Kingfishers mailnly eat insects and snails as well as small lizards, frogs, and crabs. One amazing feature of this bird is its tunnel like nest that can stretch up to a meter long.
Mandarin Fish
As its name suggests, the mandarin fish (Synchiropus splendidus) is adorned with array of colors that looks similar to the robes worn by Chinese mandarin or bureaucrats. They are found in south-west Pacific Ocean close to Australia, Taiwan, and the Philippines. The mandarin fish is only 6 cm long.
Zanzibar Red Colobus
The Zanzibar red colobus (Procolobus kirkii) is a monkey that is found in the Zanzibar island. It is important to note that they are an endangered species with no more than 3000 left in the wild. They live in groups of up to 50 individuals. This particular monkey eats leaves, seeds, and flowers that are found in forests, coastal areas, and swamps.
