The Hoopoe is a colorful bird whose name is derived from its cry. It is found across Afro-Eurasia and is popular for its unique ‘crown’ of feathers. It is very important to note that the Hoopoe is an endangered species and another popular species of this bird -the Giant Hoopoe of Saint Helena, is already extinct.
