1) The Crooked House Designed by Architect Szotynscy Zaleski , the building looks very twisted and resembles a work done by a very drunk painter! Spread over an area of 4000 square kilometers, this building is actually a real house located in Rezydent Shopping Center in Sopot, Poland. It is one of the most popular buildings in Poland,which is believed to be the most photographed building in Poland.
2) Forest Spiral – Hundertwasser Building Designed by Architect Heinz M. Springmann, this building is located in Darmstadt, Germany. It is actually a residential building that is asymmetrical in every aspect. The windows look out of order and the façade of the building does not follow the normal grid pattern. This building was originally designed by Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. This residential building with 12 floors comprises 105 apartments, a small artificial lake, a playground and an inner courtyard.
3) The Torre Galatea Figueras (Spain) This building’s unique feature is its giant egg sculptures along the roofline. Torre Galatea Fugueras is the name of the tower that is part of Salvador Dali Theater Museum in Figueras, Spain. This particular tower was named after Salvador Dali’s wife. Another interesting feature of this museum is that it is built just adjacent to the parish church where Dali was baptized in 1904.
4) The Basket Building (Ohio, United States) As its name suggests, this building looks like a giant basket. However, it is a building that comprised of seven stories that houses Longaberger’s Home Office in Newark, Ohio . This building is 192 ft. long by 126 ft. wide at the bottom and spreads to 208-ft. long by 142-ft. wide at the roofline.
5) Kansas City Public Library (Missouri, United States) This particular public library was founded in 1873 A.D. It is the oldest and the third largest public library in Kansas City, USA. The building has been designed to hide the library’s car park
6) Ferdinand Cheval Palace a.k.a Ideal Palace (France) Ferdinand Cheval began constructing this particular building in April 1879. It is believed that once he tripped on a stone adorned with a unique shape and was inspired by it. Next day, he returned to the same spot and started collecting the stones. He claimed that he carried these unique stones for nearly 33 years just to finish constructing this particular building.
7) Habitat 67 (Montreal, Canada) Designed by Architect Moshe Safdie, Habitat 67 is a housing complex located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This particular building was the emblem for the International World Exposition and its theme, Man and His World, held in Montreal in 1967.
8) Cubic Houses (Rotterdam, Netherlands) Designed by Architect Piet Blom, this is a house designed on the top of a pedestal bridge with cubes that represent abstract trees. These cubes are tilted and placed on hexagon-shaped pole structures. The cubes are actually the living areas.
9) Hang Nga Guesthouse (Crazy House), Vietnam This particular guest house is owned by the daughter of the ex-president of Vietnam, who studied architecture in Moscow. This house resembles a castle in fairy tale and while visiting this house, one will feel as if he or she is enjoying a trip to the world of Alice and Wonderland. One important aspect of this house is that it does not follow any conventional architectural rules.
10) The Dancing House Designed by Architect Frank Gehry, this building was inspired by Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire who were legendary film couple known for their parts in musical comedies. The building stretches over an area of 5,400 sq.m. The Dancing House is located on Resslova Street, on the right bank of the Vltava in Praque, Czech Republic.
