The Peacock
Peacocks are large pheasants known for their sparkling long feathers that look like tails. These feathers can spread out in a circular shape that is more than 60 percent of the peacock’s total body length. These feathers are adorned by various colors like blue, gold, red and other hues. It is believed that peahen select their mates as per the size, shape and color of the peacock’s feathers. It is the national bird of India.
The Golden Pheasant
The Golden Pheasant, also known as Chinese Pheasant is another bird that is also known for its colorful feathers. They are mainly found in western China. However, golden pheasants are also bred in countries like the UK and other European countries. During the mating season, it displays its deep orange ‘cape’ to attract mates.
